Almost the same recipe

Nothing new under the sun... similar, sad story as mine with a "little" higher value: first cost shipping, "delayed" package at the post office, expire buyer protection, no refund. Perfect recipe :)

I had previously bought a lot of non-electronic items from mkstudio and they were good. They were selling a new model (SQ series) of flash that looked like good value (approx 400$), so I bought two. When I received them, they were physically broken (parts broken off inside, flash tube protector smashed) so I contacted mkstudio. They refused to pay return shipping, requested that I have the flashes repaired locally and offered to pay the repair costs. The repairs did not work and the flashes caught fire - they have a number of faults. I have returned (at my cost!) the burnt parts to mkstudio on promise of receiving complete replacements but of course received nothing but promises and procrastination - they lied for a week about not receiving the package in an attempt to wait for Buyer Protection to expire. They attempted to get me to abandon my PayPal dispute.

PayPal has found in favour of mkstudio because the flashes "were modified while in my possession", even though this was at the explicit request of mkstudio. For mkstudio to claim that I've modified/destroyed the flashes when the repairs were in fact requested by them is dishonest. I am of course attempting to get PayPal to reverse their decision.

Having posted negative feedback on mkstudio, I see that in the last 3 months (since this model was released and I bought them), there is an emerging pattern of these SQ flashes being faulty.

Another flash trap

"seller owes me 200$.though promised a refund -he ignores & blocked me totally."

7 months ago (on December 2011) I ordered 2 items from this scumbag (flash + softbox)that cost around 130$. He kept on telling me that the shipment will take longer than usual because of the Chinese new year and tricked me to wait till passed the 45 days of the buyer days.

Since I bought lots of other cheap items from this seller before, and every thing was great, I did not think (not even for a moment) that he is trying to deceive me.

After I told him that I want my money back, and we agreed on 200$ refund (for the lost time and the higher prices of the same items on the market at the time) he told me that he will refund me within two days, than he "couldn't find my pay-pal account" and after few more days he stopped responding and blocked! my account from buying and sending any messages!!!

When I tried t buy other staff from my wife's account so I can give him some bad reviews, he blocked her account as well.

I can't believe myself for falling into his trap!!!

Best Warranty Card



I've just found this card in my drawer yesterday... and I have to share it! I've got it empty, unfilled. Cool warranty, right? But the best, check the bottom line: If you can't leave us positive feedback or 5 stars in all 4 categories, it is best NOT to leave any feedback at all. Of course, if we have any problem, eg. got some broken stuff, very long shipment, lost package, never refunded money... we will happily give you 5 stars and positive feedback anytime! You are the best seller ever!

A real refund policy

Just some new quotes from the past 2 weeks, because I informed this scumbag about this blog (why not :), and voilá, he answered... I mean, he asked: what is this place. Answer: a blog, what else, and it's exactly what is seems. But I have got more! I asked again, where is my money?!

On Jul 06:
  "dealing with the payment."

  "please tell me how much we should refund you of the light flash.please advice quickly."

  "please leave us your paypal account,we would refund you the payment as soon as possible,.thnaks."

Please don't ask otiose things, you know everything, but I shared these secrets with him again.

  "we would refund you the payment of $151 first.thanks."

Oh, is this a progress? When? When?

  "we would refund you the payment within 2 days."

Ahhha... the same old shit continues :) But I got a new deadline:

  "ook,before Monday."

And now on Monday:

On Jul 09:

  "we just transit the payment just now,did you receive it?"

Any guess? Did I or did I not? And you know it!! I did not. Of course they didn't transit my money back! And a final joke.... they wait for it... blocked wait for it... my accout, yes! They blocked my account! So, I can't buy anything from mkstudio! Cool, right? They can't stole / keep my money next time!!! This is so touching, I am so impressed! :)

A year ago

I really don't understand how can mkstudio trade on eBay a negative feedbacks like this (just a few pick up from the last year, they have more than 300 in the last 12 months):

28-Jul-11:
"Sell scammed me - sent wrong items, won't respond, stole my money. Avoid him."

27-Oct-11:
"I no received the package paid over 1 month.Refuse to communicate !Avoid seller!"

15-Nov-11:
"Item never received, payment never refunded after promises of refund. Unreliable"

29-Nov-11:
"Promises, does nothing. Very bad! I do not recommend"

16-Dec-11:
"Very dishonest seller. Liar, and swindler"

Nice, right? Everybody can read these feedbacks on eBay, but probably you do not take seriously, until some of them will happens to you!

Waiting for the item...

"I didnt receive the item. It has been 20 days. Seller doesnt response!"

I did a payment on 31st of may, 2012, item didnt arrive i m still waiting for this morons to refund my money.

Poor packaging, no replace

"Packaging was poor item was damage. I asked for change but it didn't help"

The item arrived in a very weak package, some plastic parts were damaged. After several asks and promises, seller refused to send a replace.

Don’t trust to this seller.

A while ago (December 2011) I purchased Flash Softbox 32″ from this ebay seller. He reported to have the purchased goods getting stucked in Customs and was sorry for it. We agreed that I’d wait for the shipment once it would be released in 20th Feb from Customs, expected to be in my hands in March.

Now it is mid April and I haven’t seen this product yet. I have contacted the seller but no response so far.

I hope that he fixes this and sends the goods. Until then I can only say:
DON’T TRUST TO THIS SELLER !!!

What can we do?

If eBay will see this, all of this complaint, they can restrict or suspend mkstudio's account! Or maybe they can refund your money somehow! Or just save some buyers from mkstudio!

My story

I am from Hungary and I bought a Yongnuo YN-565EX from mkstudio on  March-8-2012. Costs  $153.99 USD

The flash arrived on Apr-11-12. Almost a month... but the flash worked fine, I posted a positive feedback, because I was happy. On the next week, when I really wanted to use the flash on an event, after a few flash, the Youngnuo just not worked anymore, didn't flash. I contacted with mkstudio, what should I do: try to find somebody who can fix the flash, or send it back and got the refund. He said very kindly, just send it back, and he will refund my money, when the item arrive at his local post office. I believed him, so I dispatched the flash on Apr 17. The flash arrived on Apr 27 at the local post office. I asked about when will he refund, he said when the post man will deliver to him, and he will send a new flash to me. That wasn't an option to me, I wanted my money back. He said ok. But after more than 2 weeks the first delivery attempt, still nothing. Little suspect... so I wrote to eBay and PayPal, maybe they can speed up the process for my money, but they said, I am over the "Buyer protection" and over the 45 days!!!! They advised: contact to the seller! Great, I can put this into somewhere I want...  :))

So, no buyer protection, just SELLER PROTECTION, because after 45 days, you can do NOTHING, just mailing with the seller, who is far-far-away. But lets do this, if eBay think this can work.

After a few days, mkstudio got the flash on 02-Jun-12.

  "my friend,we got the light flash finally.
  please leave us your paypal account for refunding."


Ok, hurray!!! My waiting is over, eBay had right! But just a question, when will you refund, I asked. The answer:

  "we would refund you the payment within 3 working days."

Oh... Why? Why not today? What is holding you back?

  "my friend,don't worry.we are dealing with the payment for you."

After 3 working days later, and after I asked, when he will refund my money, I got this:

  "my friend,we need to unify the payment for refunding to our customer.
  please pay a little more patient with this. don't worry,we must refund you the payment.
  have a nice day."

I thought it will be just a few hours delay, but nothing happened. Next day:

  "my friend,don't worry.we must refund you the payment.
  to be honest,we did not have enough money for refunding this period.
  because we need change the paypal account for our company.
  hope to understand,that would last a little long to transit the money.
  thank you so much.have a nice day."


And the rightful question is "when"? Then answer:

  "no more delayed.in 5 days later(Jun 15).you must receive the payment.
  please just give us 5 days to solve the problem by our paypal account.thanks."


Familiar? Right? Promise everything, keep nothing. No more delay  = 5 more days? Funny. I was a little bit haywire!

  "please wait,the 5 days was estimated.we would try our best to achieve it soon.
  please just wait 2-3 days.we must solve the problem for you."


On Jun 12:

  "no more delayed.in 3 working days later."

On Jun 13:

  "thanks,my friend.we are dealing with the payment for you."

I asked again: when? Answer:

  "just after 2 working days.thanks."

Tragicomic, right? And this was 2 weeks ago. And still nothing. Refund day just not come.

I just waited a new excuse like this: "Sorry, our net speed is suddenly become very unreliable, so we can't take a risk to transfer?" or "My gosh, our computer had exploded, but don't worry, we will refund your money as we got a new machine... it takes, not much time, only 2 months?" or "We have a half year Chinese holiday, we can't refund during these days"

But no more mails from mkstudio.  No more answers. No more excuses. No refund.

So, be aware this seller, because if you have any problem, and you are over 45 days "buyer protection", you are alone. He will never refund your money (against his principles or what), you leaved a positive feedback, and this story will never shows up! Or it will? :)

How can be this great, big seller, with all this cool stuff is a scumbag?! Also he has 99.1% positive feedback on eBay! Yes, he does. He has approx 3500-4000 positive feedback per month, and approx 35-40 negative as well. But be careful! He can do anything with you if you don't watch! Basically three things:

- received no new item
- you will never receive your item
- no refund

These are the common problems with this seller, and I think this a big issue. You may have several successful transaction, without problems, but sooner or later you will run into one of the problem!
